Snow Train Shuttle at Loon Mtn

The narrow gauge railroad is much like the logging trains that once crisscrossed the surrounding forests a century ago. Originally built to burn coal, the engine was retrofitted to burn wood. More train news: on the Kancamagus Highway, the large logging train has been moved up river of the entrance to Loon to make way for the construction of a new bridge across the Pemi River.
