Vanier Hearing Center Opens in Lincoln

A new state-of-the-art hearing center opened at the Village Shops in Lincoln on August 3rd.
The Vanier Hearing Center focuses on social distancing and a welcoming retail environment with the latest hearing aid technology.
Owner Jason Vanier is the Chairman of the New Hampshire Board of Hearing Care Providers. He is nationally board certified and a New Hampshire State Board Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist who brings eleven years of experience to the new venture.
“It’s an interesting time. We have come to the realization that folks with even the slightest hearing impairment are vulnerable in the mask-wearing era. They are unable to connect with visual dependencies such as reading lips,” said Vanier.
The start-up features a custom-built sound booth with a comfortable egg chair that is reminiscent of the 1970s.
“We are trying to get away from the old-school clinical vibe and get into this new era of welcoming people to an open setting and offering transparent pricing for all hearing aids,” noted Vanier. The owner continued, “I decided that I wanted to take a very different approach and make sure that we could help everyone so nobody went away without getting some sort of care for their hearing needs. Insurance can be difficult and there’s a solution for everyone regardless of their budget. That’s the right way to do it”.
According to Vanier, the latest hearing devices deliver Bluetooth technology, rechargeable batteries and self-learning and adaptive options. He said, “People with hearing problems historically don’t do well on the phone or hearing television. Now with Blue-tooth connectivity, they are getting direct to ear streaming.”
Self-hearing devices can identify noisy environments and distinguish between speech and background noise, said Vanier. Noice cancellation technology is used to suppress the background and can be controlled or operated independently.
